Doctoral Training

The Institut Henri Poincaré supports a high-level doctoral training program in mathematics and theoretical physics aimed at supplementing existing doctoral curriculae with a few carefully selected courses.

Mathematicians and physicists are welcome to submit a proposal for a set of courses at doctoral or post-doctoral level. The targeted attendees are advanced graduate students, PhD students or Early Career Researchers. The courses will preferably take place at the Institut Henri Poincaré (Paris), at CIRM (Luminy), at IESC (Cargèse) or at Les Houches Physics School.

Proposals will be evaluated by the IHP Scientific Committee on the basis of several criteria including scientific relevance, timeliness of the topic, educational value, interdisciplinarity. The Committee will pay particular attention to gender balance and diversity. Selected doctoral programs will receive

♦ Partial financial support for travel and living expenses of speakers and/or attendees;

♦ Specific advertising on the IHP website, and through general email announcements;

♦ Logistic support from the Émile Borel Centre for activities taking place at IHP.
