Mathematics of Planet Earth

The North American Mathematical Science Institutes propose that 2013 be a year of Mathematics of Planet Earth - MPE20123. To mark this year the programs of various Mathematical Institutes and Summer schools will emphasize domains of Mathematics that are relevant to understanding the physics and complexity of our planet. Possible fields of interest include dynamical processes in the Earths mantle, oceans and atmosphere through to issues related to ecology, epidemiology and issues related to the management of natural resources (please consult www.mpe2013.org/ for further information).

The IHP participates in this special event by organizing a trimester on one theme associated with MPE2013 at the Center Emile Borel : Mathematics of Bio-Economics from January, 7 - April, 5 2013.
