♦ Mathematical Culture and Games Fair 2015 : From 28th to 31st May.
From Thursday 28th to Sunday 31st May 2015, the 16th Mathematical Culture and Games Fair was held in Saint-Sulpice Square, Paris.
2015 being the International Year of Light, the fair was naturally revolve around "Mathematics and Light", under the sponsorship of Jean-Pierre Luminet, a CNRS research director in astrophysics.

♦ 2014 Science Festival - The Many Facets of the House of Mathematics
Are you keen to discover the world of mathematics? On Saturday 11 October, the Henri Poincaré Institute is celebrating science: workshops, documentary films, speed-meeting, lectures, exhibition, tours of the Curie campus... The 2014 Science Festival is the opportunity to discover the "many facets of the house of mathematics". Come, meet mathematicians, and understand how mathematics was instrumental in building yesterday’s and today’s science.

As part of the commemorations of Joseph-Louis Lagrange (1736-1813), Jérôme Perez (professor at the Applied mathematics laboratory – ENSTA Paristech and coordinator of the Gravasco quarter at IHP) organised a day of tribute to the great scientist. On that occasion, four prominent speakers revisited his work from different perspectives: historical, physical and mathematical. Opening the programme, Luigi Pepe (University of Ferrara) presented the scientific biography of Joseph-Louis Lagrange (in two parts, 9.30 – 11.00). The afternoon went on with the première of the film Lagrange and talks by three distinguished scientists: Cédric Villani (IHP director, 2010 Fields Medal laureate), Jacques Laskar (IMCCE, Paris) and Alain Albouy (IMCCE, Paris).
The year 2012 was dedicated to the commemoration of our favorite mathematician, who died a hundred years ago: Henri Poincaré, a unique figure in the history of French science, whose mathematician skills matched his physicist, engineering and philosophical skills. On November 17th, 2012, the Henri Poincaré Institute set up a General Public Day dedicated to the discovery of mathematics in the Grand amphitheatre of the Sorbonne. The visitors were able to relive one of the chapters of the history of mathematics in the light of Henri Poincaré’s work.
Relive the General Public Day Ten hours with Poincaré
In 2011, the IHP celebrated the bicentennial of Evariste Galois’ birth in partnership with the SMF (Société Mathématique de France). A General Public Afternoon dedicated to the turbulent life and the tragic destiny of Evariste Galois was set up as part of that commemoration. In order to liven up a series of scientific, historical and political exposés allowing the public to discover this theatrical figure of the history of mathematics, the Alexandre Astruc’s movie was projected, autographs were signed and a show with mathematician clowns was set up.
In 2011, the Henri Poincaré Institute was also a partner of the Cartier Foundation Exhibition
