The Centre Émile Borel

The coordination and organisation of the different formats of the IHP's scientific programmes are entrusted to the Centre Émile Borel department, a team of five experienced staff members who work in close collaboration with all the IHP's teams.

The Institut Henri Poincaré is a host structure whose mission is to promote interdisciplinarity and interaction between scientists from all over the world by providing the appropriate material, logistical and financial resources.

Each year, several thematic programmes lasting three, six or twelve weeks are selected for their scientific excellence, their thematic relevance and their original and innovative character by the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB).

The IHP also hosts a high-level doctoral training programme for French and foreign students and supports the implementation of small group collaborative projects through the Research in Paris programme.

Other research activities

The IHP also hosts a dozen recurrent seminars, either specialised or aimed at large communities, such as the Bourbaki (mathematics) and Bourbaphy (theoretical physics) seminars.

Finally, the Annales (de l'Institut) Henri Poincaré publishes high-level scientific works and can financially support certain actions related to the scientific publishing activities or the development of the IHP.
