Original title: "Sur les pas de Joseph-Louis Lagrange"
Introduction
This historical exhibition tells the story of Joseph-Louis Lagrange, a great 18th century scientist. With the help of original documents, this exhibition offers to follow Lagrange's steps, from Turin to Paris via Berlin.
It also sheds light on the roles played by the academies under the Ancien Régime to better understand the upheavals caused by the French Revolution as regards the relationship between science and society. These upheavals led to scientists becoming professors with the creation of new institutions such as the École Polytechnique and the École Normale.
This exhibition is complemented by a royalty-free documentary by Quentin Lazzarotto.
